UNITE is pleased to announce the continuation of our hugely successful  education initiative in cooperation with Keele University aimed at educating, preparing and developing future leaders of the union.

The course will offer applicants the opportunity to gain a ‘Certificate in Union Leadership and Industrial Relations’ (UNITE and Keele 2015), which has been specifically designed for UNITE and will be delivered through five residential sessions, supported by distance learning over the course of one year. The course will also provide participants with the opportunity to gain a place on the Masters Degree Course, if they so wish, after attaining the Certificate.

The course has been exclusively designed for UNITE and is open to either UNITE officers, staff or lay activists. There are ONLY 20 places available for 2015, with the first residential taking place on the 12th – 15th   February 2015.

For all those officers, staff and lay activists who wish to apply for a place on the course, please fill in the attached application form (Application form Certificate in Industrial Relations (Unite). 2) and return to Lynette Cotton no later than 12.00PM on Tuesday  6th January 2015.

It is very important that applicants submit a comprehensive application.  The selection process is a demanding one, and it will be the application, and no other consideration, which will factor the decisions made.

This is a unique and fantastic opportunity, which I am sure will assist in building and developing the future leaders of our Union.
